At YMCAs and other partnering organizations, the Summer Food Program gives kids access to complimentary, nutritious meals and snacks as well as fun learning activities to keep kids active, well-nourished, and healthy throughout the summer.
Research shows that without proper nourishment, children have trouble concentrating in school, which can result in lower academic achievement. It is our mission at the Y to ensure all children have regular access to nutritious meals to reach their fullest potential.
This summer, the Limestone Family YMCA will serve 20,000 meals and feed any child here in Mason County.
Driven by its founding mission, the Y has served as a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community for more than 175 years. The Y empowers everyone, no matter who they are or where they’re from, by ensuring access to resources, relationships and opportunities for all to learn, grow and thrive. By bringing together people from different backgrounds, perspectives and generations, the Y’s goal is to improve overall health and well-being, ignite youth empowerment, and demonstrate the importance of connections in and across 10,000 communities nationwide.
